5 Key Stages to Parenthood
- Ovulation Induction
Synthetic hormones stimulate multiple egg production over 8-14 days, starting with your menstrual cycle.
- Egg Retrieval
34-36 hours after the final dose, eggs are collected using transvaginal ultrasound and a suction device in a 25-minute procedure
- Sperm Retrieval
Partner provides a semen sample, or sperm is surgically extracted; sperm is then separated from semen in the lab.
- Fertilization
Eggs and sperm are combined on retrieval day; fertilized eggs are incubated for 5-6 days.
- Embryo Transfer
4-5 days after retrieval, embryos are placed in the uterus via a quick, painless catheter procedure.
